Mickey's House

We visited Disneyland over President's Day weekend. Quentin refers to it as "Mickey's House". My parents came with us and we all had a great time. Quentin was big enough to go on all but the major rides (no Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, or Indiana Jones). Surprisingly hey let him ride on the Matterhorn though. He met the height requirement with an inch to spare. We spent a good chunk of the day in Fantasyland, riding Dumbo, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, the Tea Cups, etc.He had a good time on all but there were a few rides that he was a little unsure of. In the Haunted Mansion he snuggled up to my dad and didn't want to look around to much. And on Finding Nemo, he keep telling us "Not scary?" and then he'd snuggle up to me and only peek out from time to time. Nemo was cool-- but we waited about an hour and 45 minutes for it. Luckily, Quentin and the grandparents had gone back to the hotel for a nap in the middle of the day so Brian and I got ride a few of the big kid rides and then we hopped in the Nemo line. By the time they all got back to the park, we only had 15 minutes left to wait. We had no wait the entire rest of the day. I dowloaded this really cool program called Ride Max that helps you plan an itinerary with little to no wait on any ride. It's very accurate. We never waited more than 10 minutes for anything the entire day except Nemo. I highly recommend this program-- it made the visit much easier because not only did we barely have to wait for anything, but we also didn't stand around saying "What do you want to do?" all day. We got to ride about 17 rides even though the park was moderately busy. Brian and I even walked right on to Splash Mountain, waiting only 1 minute at a time when the line was over an hour! We were laughing like giddy little school girls after pulling off this feat!

At night, we watched the Electric Light Parade which Quentin got very excited about. In the morning, we had breakfast with Chip and Dale and went to California Adventure. We got very lucky this time because we managed to see nearly all of the characters (which Quentin goes nuts over!) The only one we missed was "Dee-dee duck" (Donald Duck). 

He was very well-behaved on both flights, which was a relief. On the plane ride home, he started to get a little antsy in his car seat so I held him on my lap and we sang songs to each other for a good 25 minutes. He loves the "ABC" song right now so we have been singing it several times a day. Overall, he was a little angel on this trip. We didn't have a single tantrum or melt down and he listened to us and didn't fuss or cry at all! He loved spending time with "Mah-ee" and "Pah-dee" (grandma and grandpa) and it sure helped us to have the extra hands. Kind of funny that it takes 4 adults to keep a 2 1/2 year old entertained! :)
